December First ~ What We Are Doing

I can’t believe the year is almost over, we have had a bumpy ride this year, but we have made it through.  This past week has been an emotional week, my 14-year-old son had to have several test run this week, including an ultrasound of his heart. While the results of the echo were not bad, we did find out he does have a problem. Instead of having all 3 valves in his aorta, he might only have 2. I have done some research on it, and most people live normal lives with this condition, reading this has given me peace. We have a conference on Monday and all of the specialist reports should be in. I believe God is still working miracles today and this is in His hands.

Today we are enjoying the day at home, we have been running around all week, and it felt good to sleep in this morning. I am beginning our “Winter” cleaning, making room for all of the new stuff the children will receive this year.  I am also feeling the need to simplify, I am learning fast, that just because you have room in your  home you don’t have to fill every space. I will donate all of our stuff to groups who have rummage sales to raise money for charity.

I plan to use this week to get the children ahead somewhat in school, I am planning to take 3 weeks off from homeschooing starting December 24th. I want to use this break to spend time with our family, as well as work on making goals for the next year and work on some new ideas I have for our homeschool. I really want to make memorizing scripture a regular part of their curriculum, as well as adding some creative writing and journaling. I would also like to use this time to do some writing of my own, get my creativity flowing.

I have also began to research natural living, we already have began taking steps to live more natural, using handmade soaps and castile soap, we have switched to more natural cleaners and making our own laundry soap, but all of that is for another post. I would just like to take it to the next level.

Well.. I guess that is all we are up to right now, I hope everyone is having a blessed day and thanks so much for following along !
